White Fence Farm

About White Fence Farm

From a Private Farm to an Affordable Wedding Venue Near Boone, NC

Denise and Fulton Lovin, long-time Boone residents, started White Fence Farm Rentals in 2012 when they purchased a farmhouse with over 100 acres of land out in Trade, Tennessee. The farm was their escape, and they considered it their “home away from home” here in the High Country. As they began to appreciate the property’s potential, a friend remarked that the beautiful setting would make an ideal wedding venue. That idea sparked them to explore the possibility, eventually leading them to market the property as both a wedding venue and vacation rental.

Soon after that, they realized a need for lodging in Boone, NC, so they purchased additional property in the heart of downtown, right on King Street. White Fence Farm began to grow. The business encompasses three unique rental properties: White Fence Farm, White Fence Farm Downtown Boone, and the Appalachian House.

Each property offers a different experience, and we hope to have you stay with us the next time you visit the High Country!

Making Rustic Mountain Weddings More Affordable and Flexible

Planning a wedding can become expensive quickly. Venue fees are only one part of the budget. Couples may also find themselves paying for required vendors, elaborate décor, strict packages, limited hours, and features they never wanted in the first place.

For people dreaming of a budget wedding in the mountains, those requirements can turn a joyful occasion into a long list of costs and restrictions.

White Fence Farm offers another approach. The property serves as a rustic wedding venue where the landscape already does much of the decorating. Fields, mountain views, trails, a pond, a barn, and 105 private acres give couples a natural backdrop without requiring the space to become something it is not.

It is simple, country, and real.

A Wedding Should Not Feel Confined by the Venue

Finding inexpensive wedding venues can be especially difficult for couples who want an outdoor celebration with room for family, friends, pets, and overnight guests.

Some reception venues limit vendor choices. Others have firm end times just as the party gets going. Smaller properties may leave little room for an outdoor ceremony, tent, parking, lodging, or different areas for guests to gather.

Those limitations matter when you picture a wedding that feels relaxed instead of scheduled down to every minute. A couple looking for a barn wedding reception venue may want dinner under a tent, photographs across the farm, music later into the evening, and a quiet farmhouse nearby when the celebration winds down.

The wrong venue can force that vision into a much smaller box.

White Fence Farm Offers a Simple, Private Event Venue in Trade, TN

White Fence Farm was shaped around the things many couples actually need: space, flexibility, natural beauty, and a fair approach to hosting an event.

Located about 15 minutes from downtown Boone, the farm provides a private setting that still feels easy to reach. Couples can hold an outdoor ceremony, use the rustic barn, add tent space, bring in vendors that suit their plans, and make use of on-site lodging.

The property can comfortably host gatherings of up to 300 people. It also offers ample on-site parking, a three-bedroom farmhouse, vintage campers available for an additional cost, RV hookup, and free tent camping.

Dogs are allowed, too.

For couples comparing a cheap wedding venue, affordable reception venue, small wedding location, or larger event space for rent, White Fence Farm keeps the focus on what matters instead of adding layers of unnecessary extras.

The farm also works well beyond weddings. Its open setting can accommodate reunions, anniversaries, birthday parties, family gatherings, retreats, and celebrations such as a quinceanera.

What Guests Can Find at White Fence Farm

  • A private 105-acre farm: Plenty of room for ceremonies, receptions, photographs, camping, and time outdoors.
  • A rustic barn wedding venue: A simple farm setting that complements country, vintage, antique, and back-to-basics wedding styles.
  • Flexible event planning: Couples have more freedom to choose vendors and create a celebration that fits their priorities and budget.
  • On-site lodging and camping: The three-bedroom farmhouse, optional vintage campers, RV hookup, and tent camping make it easier for guests to stay close.
  • No required early ending: Overnight guests can celebrate late into the night without the same disruption concerns found at many conventional venues.

Downtown Boone Vacation Rentals Grew Alongside the Farm

As White Fence Farm developed, properties on King Street in Boone became another part of the business. The downtown homes provided vacation rental lodging while also helping connect visitors in Boone with the farm in nearby Trade.

Today, White Fence Farm Downtown Boone offers a two-bedroom home for up to six guests, while The Appalachian House next door offers one bedroom for up to four guests. Travelers can rent the homes separately or pair them when more room is needed.

Their location puts guests within walking distance of downtown Boone, restaurants, shops, and Appalachian State University. That makes the rentals useful for mountain getaways, App State visits, football weekends, local events, and trips that center around exploring Boone on foot.

The rentals are also pet friendly for dogs, keeping with the practical, relaxed character of White Fence Farm.

A Rustic Wedding and Mountain Stay That Feels Like the High Country

When it comes to choosing a wedding venue or vacation rental, many guests simply want a place that feels comfortable, genuine, and connected to where they are visiting.

That is the happy ending White Fence Farm continues to work toward. Couples can celebrate against a Blue Ridge Mountain backdrop without turning their wedding into something overly formal. Families and friends can stay nearby. Guests can walk across open land instead of remaining inside one reception room. Travelers staying in Boone can leave the car parked and enjoy King Street, downtown restaurants, shops, and App State on foot.

The result is something intentionally uncomplicated — a rustic farm for gathering, comfortable lodging for staying, and plenty of room to enjoy the mountains.
